SUMMARY This position is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience in working with a professional humanitarian aid organization with 16 years of experience in the field of emergency and trauma. This is an chance to be part of a leading team of IsraAID HQ, supporting field staff in their mission of offering psychosocial services and Trauma care to people recovering from a disaster and/or experiencing ongoing stress in difficult living conditions. CONTEXT IsraAID, founded in 2001, is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to providing life-saving disaster relief and long term support. For over a decade, our teams of professional medics, search & rescue squads, post-trauma experts and community mobilizers, have been first on the front lines of nearly every major humanitarian response in the 21st century. Our mission is to efficiently support and meet the changing needs of populations as they strive to move from crisis to reconstruction/rehabilitation, and eventually, to sustainable living. IsraAID HQ is based in Tel Aviv from which it offers support to all IsraAID programs, development and emergency, around the world. The EDUCATION sector coordinator will work as part of the programs department to support the development, implementation and evaluation of EDUCATION programs around the world, striving to increase scope and depth of IsraAID activities worldwide. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES IsraAID’s Education sector coordinator will work together with the programs and emergency department to develop the sector’s capacity tooffer quality programs in the education sector. The coordinator activity will be designed according to a development plan designed based on the sector’s annual goals and field needs. ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND COMPETENCIES Main areas of responsibility: 1. Take leadership in the strategic development of IsraAID Education sector. 2. Oversee and contribute to the development of the sectoral body of knowledge in accordance to most recent theoretical developments and humanitarian aid agenda, in stable environments and emergency settings. 3. Offer technical support to deployed teams delivering Education programs in emergency operations and development contexts in accordance to program cycle 4. Continue to develop and offer leadership in the building of IsraAID Education communities of experts.
